What kind of person hasn’t heard of Doctor Who? And in 2008, it was just starting to be a “thing” outside the UK. This has NOT aged well, and only serves to make Marla look as ignorant of pop culture as Stuart.
Marla should’ve at least been like “Ohh, so that’s what Doctor Who looks like!” Instead she’s showing that she lives under a rock by never having heard of it. Even in 2008, you should have heard of Doctor Who. And maybe the TARDIS and the Daleks (though those becoming common knowledge happened later).

At least with Stuart is something most who are nerdy haven’t heard of. Doctor who is a no brainer but most don’t research the doctors.
