I’ve been in stores where someone tried to use an expired coupon and the cashier will not let them use it. I don’t know why the customer always acts like it’s the cashier’s fault it’s expired.

At the end of the day, retail is hell not because of the customers usually, but because the customers have been taught being crappy to the workers is ALLOWED by corporate.
If they empowered the workers rather the undermine them for the sake of maybe keeping a customer, aka profit over people, retail would not be as soul crushing. Any retail place I have worked where the manager and area manager stuck up for us or pushed back against corporate general were not the usual retail experience.
