I lost track of this strip a few years ago. I’m happy I was able to catch up on the last year. I’m a bit sad that Marla apparently gave up on her plan to open her own business. I know it was “put on hold” after she got pregnant. What happened after that?
One unsatisfactory bit is that we’re not told what Marla’s new job is. Yes, it’s an office manager for Myers-Peterson, but who are they? Hate to see Marla finally swim free from the wreck of the S.S. Grumbel’s only to wind up at a branch of some Wolfram & Hart-type group…
Never a big ANGEL fan, but I saw enough episodes to know at W&H, you wouldn’t be fighting the forces of evil so much as be a pawn that thinks it’s fighting the forces of evil.
Have a happy future, Marla! Äksdee
What does “Äksdee” mean?
Finnish pronunciation of “XD,” one of the old text-emojis. Tip your head to the left and see a grinning smiley.

Marla decided that a steady paycheck and healthcare for her family was worth letting her dream go into hiatus until Fiona grew up.
Thanks, David.

Since this is a “Comic”..let’s all just wish our intrepid team well.
What, you’re saying you DON’T want to see Marla fight the forces of evil?

Menial Job Career Tip: Never hesitate at an opportunity for something better.
You’ll love it. Now the fun part – telling Stuart! And leaving him with the sinking ship so he can go down with it!
Seriously, you might not get the store you wanted, but at least you got a new job with better pros than at retail.
