This story happened in real life. The best part: The employee found the book!

Used to happen all the time to booksellers. Of course, there are no booksellers anymore. The other good one is, “I’d like to return this dictionary.” “Why is that, ma’am?” “I’ve already read it.” “Of course you have.”

The Dictionary is the ONLY book. Everything else is a remix.

My wife and her best friend are librarians. “I can’t remember, but the cover was yellow” is the classic quote from such people, and is a regular enquiry. And they DO find the book. And the cover is NEVER yellow.

Google won’t do THAT for you!

    Librarians. Magical people.
