You’re helping bad people get into office if you don’t vote. Don’t trow away your chance to choose who you want in whatever positions are on the ballot.
Now that I think about it, Deval Patrick never made good on that promise. Romney did, though, but only in a roundabout way by getting rid of time-and-a-half on Sundays, which shouldn’t count.
Enlightened self-interest. Not ideal but better than voting for whoever you most recognize from TV ads.
