Oh good grief. I hear this same nonsense everywhere I go now. Due to the COVID-19 mess, companies can’t find employees, and the customers are constantly bemoaning that fact, claiming that “people are so lazy, they’re getting unemployment, nobody wants to work anymore!”
No, it’s just that nobody wants to put up with your crap anymore for minimum wage and no benefits. The dangerous pandemic was just the last straw.
I love it when someone tells me that “people are so lazy, they’re not working and getting unemployment”. Oh, yeah? Well, here’s the deal on that: unemployment is less than what you get at your job and to get unemployment, first, you have to have been paying into it, and, second, you have to prove you are job hunting, and, finally, you no longer qualify if you turn down a job. Yeah, that’s really lazy, isn’t it? And then when the same individuals tell me that “illegal aliens” are using up all the welfare funds, they get it from both barrels from me on that, too! “Illegal aliens” cannot qualify for assistance. But, hey, what’s a fact or two to get in the way of their ranting?

Treat people well and make them feel like they’re actually accomplishing something at work and you won’t have a problem recruiting
