I think Norm was running out of steam toward the end. Some of the minor characters he introduced began fading into the background. When it wrapped up, I don’t think we learned of where most of them were going to do after the store closed–just Marla, Val and Cooper, and Lunker and Crystal (who were just staying on until the bitter end).
We haven’t seen Donnie and Heather’s relationship in a while as of this strip.
