I liked Arthur. I was upset to see him go. At least we eventually get Crystal.

Arthur was too good. The good ones always move on to better things.

The problem with Arthur as a comic character is that he was too similar to Marla. His appearances dwindled after a good start. It’s like Josh was too much of a bad thing, and Arthur too much of a good thing. Not surprised Norm wrote him out.

Arthur was a necessary character for commentary purposes; it shows that, despite the cliches, it’s entirely possible to have two fantastic managers at the top of the food chain. I think the plan was to always have him be there two years to contrast Josh and also show that the good ones leave. Just a theory, mind you.

It is unfortunate that he didn’t return as a guest to say hi, but oh well.

Good news for you, but bad news for her. She has to get a new AM. And if she knew what was coming, her look of woe would be magnified 1000 fold.

And as great as an assistant he was, he left with the “Grumble’s good news” joke.

Sadly having two good managers in the store was against the natural order. Working at OfficeMax, managers came and went, and for a 3 month period we had a legit “awesome” team, then one bitch ruined it.
