Just think: Cooper saw himself as saving the new guy from the thinking of the likes of Stuart.

Like the Helpdesk call-logger we had. About 10:30 she picked up her handbag and coat and said “I’m just going to the loo.” She never came back.

i ghosted a job that actually liked me this way bc enough of my old jobs treated me
like that employee was treated. had it just been the customers, fine.
customers and management, i still understand. but i was abused by people i knew i’d be working with often enough that i lost all confidence in my ability to work, and became afraid to ask for
simple advice. cut to years later – i have a stable and successful petsitting business (business in which there are still abusive customers, trust me – if you ever worked in a pet store or groomer we were
tortured by the same terrible dog owners). despite my success in my
business and my proven ability to provide good customer service, i’m still incapable of applying to stores and other minimum wage places bc of the sense of worthlessness instilled in me
by people that messed with me for fun. it’s ok to make fun of people for bailing if they don’t try, that’s only fair. it’s kind of
rude to bully someone into bailing when they’re legitimately doing their best.
screw people that leave without warning in any manner though like i was breaking down at the place i ghosted and hadn’t even finished training, but i knew a fella that quit every job he had by just ceasing to show up. how he kept getting jobs without references and with that reputation i have no idea –
but apparently the guy was more employable than me lol
