I don’t know if I was ever asked what the mission statement was at any store I ever worked at. The first one, my manager was a charming lady that hardly ever bothered me, the second one was in a death spiral and for about 4/5 of the time I was there we didn’t even HAVE a store manager, and the last place gave me nothing but compliments because customers always seemed to have a good experience if I was looking after them.

The point of a Mission Statement is to focus the employees on what is the most important. In other words if you are given a task that does not directly apply to the statement, then you should be able to refuse.

No retail store I ever worked at had one (that I knew about anyway) But a call center I worked at had one. I don’t remember what it was but it was posted around the center in large circles. Most of us laughed about it.
