It’s only 2006 and already I want to smack Stuart with a large, slimy trout.

This actually happens. I used to work for American Greetings card company and they would periodically send us new material and we were supposed to destroy the old material rather than offer it for sale. Sometimes the “new” material was the exact same thing as the old only with a higher price sticker on it.

Everything in this comic actually happens – some things may be exaggerated for comedic effect, but it’s all stuff that actually happens in retail.

The sad part is that back in 2006, it was still considered shocking/surprising that staff were forced to destroy old store fixtures rather than letting someone else use them. In 2024

And it’s dumb. A large company like Grumble’s could make good money selling any fixture they don’t need second-hand. Small businesses are desperate for that stuff.

Take it to the van and “bust it up” there, Coop.
