    Yeah, $7 in 2007 dollars is equivalent to about $9.25 in 2021 dollars.

    $7 an hour was more than I ever got paid for working retail (2004-2007).

    I worked way too hard when I was in retail. I didn’t even want a management position, I was just crazy.

    $7 an hour was low enough to be considered low pay, but realistic enough to make sense for a retail wage in a comic strip in 2007. In 2024 dollars that would be $10.62, and the US federal minimum wage is still only $7.25 (many states have higher, but the federal one is still laughably low)
