i feel like his being her superior is a major factor in not saying no (especially when this was written and it was far more difficult to publicize your manager giving you abuse for not giving them a ride – i know you could record it but you couldn’t get immediate outrage as easily) but i would absolutely just say a bad date recently urinated in the passenger seat lol. “my car is a dump” stays being a believable lie, same with everything else where you’re not TOO unnerving but you’re unnerving enough that they quit asking you favors
