Whenever I take a break, somebody around this crap shack here dumps an entire day’s worth of work on my plate while my back’s turned.

In Connecticut, convenience stores with gas stations are exempt from labor laws regarding breaks. My friend works in one. Not only do they get NO breaks, they aren’t allow3d to sit at any time during their 8 hour shift. They are supposed to be constantly working. The store needs to be cleaned, garbage need to be taken out, etc. Third shift is staffed with only 1 person. The police are definitely on speed dial as they are usually called several times a night for unruly customers.
