I’ve been bamboozled by an interviewee before. Charismatic people can deceive their way through for an hour or two, and it can be really difficult to tease out true character and skill.
I remember as a high school teacher, my then-superintendent and principal interviewed a math teacher and hired him, saying that we would love the guy, yadda yadda yadda….
I had to physically restrain my department chair from punching him after he suggested he be in that position because “women aren’t qualified”…..
Yeah, he didn’t last the year. He snowed my bosses so much I thought we were in the Yukon

Now that I think about it, Mina would be good as a DM. Her backstabbing goes primarily upwards, so she would leave Marla alone.
