    And that right there is the reason modern clothes last a couple of years at best. People just refuse to pay the extra unless you slap a designer label on it. Quality doesn’t come in to most peoples’ equations

      Unfortunately, paying more doesn’t guarantee quality, either.

        Yup. A lot of “designer brands” and “knockoffs” actually come off the same production line. An inspector decides which ones are of the “designer” quality and those get that label, while the others that aren’t the rejects get the knockoff label. They’re made the same way and the difference in quality is often negligible.

        Also I’ve had a lot of my shirts for 10 years so I don’t agree.

    you can argue the durability of modern clothing all you like, but my favorite element of this strip is that Marla never says anything to the customer. Nor does she make eye contact with him. I can’t say how often I did the same.
