And with sites like Fiverr, you can start earning a little bit of income on the side to get yourself started on maybe shifting careers.
In case anyone is still thinking of this, Paint.NET is a poor man’s old Photoshop. I edited my wedding invitation picture on that almost 20 years ago. Combined 2 shots of me because she blinked in my best shot but I really liked her other. Also printed some custom game boards last year because I didn’t like that the game had identical boards for every player. Mine allowed you to balance crew number against cargo depending on which color you chose, instead of color being the only defining trait. Some of those boards are my best and most memorable works.

Indeed. You could install a free-and-open-source program on a used PC, and start at pretty low cost.
