The 13th Amendment abolished slavery, ergo what this caller is asking for is illegal. Treat people as people, not slaves, tyvm.

Slavery is still legal so long as they are convicted criminals. hence the massive prison industrial complex and massive police spending

It’s because convicted criminals aren’t considered citizens.

In France, there are also sheltered workshops for disabled workers, we depend on the code of social action, so we can be paid less than the smic, for many things we have less leave than in other sectors.
and we’re lucky: we’ve only had the right to strike and form unions since January 1, 2024. (in a France where, apart from emergency services, we have the right to strike, and where every branch has a union)

Also, people who work for other people are exempt from pretty much all constitutional rights.

You get customer service for 364 days a year now that they’re open on Thanksgiving. And you can’t stand for retail employees to get off early one stinking day a year?

Who wants to set up a camera to record the door of a store that’s closed on Christmas and watch as customers try to enter?

I’m in, as long as the doors also deliver a mild electric shock to anyone that is stupid enough to actually touch them.
