The Hobbit follows the same dichotomy that the Star Wars original trilogy and prequel trilogy follow.
IE, the originals are not truly flawless but damn close, and are timeless classics. The prequels are flawed but offer great memes and great fun nonetheless.
We do not reference the sequels(Rings of Power in LOTR’s case, despite being a prequel).
I still haven’t watched any. Just seems silly that they did the reverse of the books.
I refuse to watch the 3 Hobbit movies until we get a 12 part Lord of the Rings trilogy that’s 100% book accurate.
