Gee, Homer, and you wonder why they call you “The Great Unwashed.”

We had one of those. He smelled like stale human urine.

Nearly every retail worker has dealt with one. I had a customer who smelled like rotting meat. And the stench lingered after he left.

The one I remember as being the worst smelled like moldy cheese, onions, and cat urine. You could smell her from across the store. (Yes, they come in all flavors, apparently. Ours was “crazy old cat lady” and it took hours for the smell to go away.)

The most common one, though, was a guy who routinely came in smelling like a loaded diaper. The only ‘good’ thing with that guy was that the smell, while deeply unpleasant, wasn’t overpowering like crazy cat lady’s was.

We had this couple who used to come into the RadioShack I worked at, covered in grateful dead tattoos, the husband had a head the size of a watermelon, and they STUNK. And any items they handled STUNK. One time my assistant manager convinced them to buy a Sprint Phone, and they brought it back the next day because they didn’t have the money, and it STUNK badly, and had some kind of hair on it. Yeah, we sent that off to repair…..
