    Yep, the perfect design of the corporate think-toilet: Pay the drones just enough that they make too much for assistance programs, but not enough to get medical insurance, guaranteeing that when said drones have an emergency, they spend the next 10 years with crippling debt.

    Then they all wonder why, after 2020 gave many people a forced vacation, and 2021 opened places back up, that there’s so few people willing to work. The government was paying better with the assistance programs they now offered. For the first time in some people’s lives, they had enough money to not be staring at the calendar and trying to make ends meet. And, all they had to do was sit on their butt at home while COVID flew around.

    About the only good thing that came about from this is that some employers actually take it seriously when someone calls in sick.
