    Been there, done that, only I got told off.

    The display plan was physically impossible for the shelving we had (intended for a larger store, probably), so I did a reasonable compromise. Oh boy, I never made that mistake again. How dare I think in work time?

    While God might grant forgiveness for transgressions, blaspheme against the Word of Corporate and there is no acceptable repentance.

      Yep. I had this happen a few months ago. Funny thing is, the people who decide where things go (merchandisers) are the ones with college degrees getting paid double what we earn. But it’s quite apparent that they have never worked at a retail store before. Huge disconnect between what corporate thinks is appropriate and what actually works best at the store level. Very frustrating.

      There is a later comic where they compare the plan to what Cooper actually makes of it. They simply don’t have the amount of products required to set up the display as intended.
