The secret shopper who came to my luggage store years ago ripped us for one salesperson only asking if he needed help rather than really engaging him, and having an employee who only seemed to stand by the single register we had.
Of course, if he had done any research, he’d have known that (a) we were a shop that used a no-pressure approach with customers, and (b) the young woman at the register had just started that day. But I guess ignorance makes good copy.
If she doesn’t have anyone available to open another register she can’t very well do so, can she? These secret shoppers see stuff they don’t like but don’t consider that there are reasons. So the store gets a bad report and they’re not able to refute it. Not fair or right!
sure, we’ll call for help at the registers when there’s 4 employees total in the three-story store.
