Hey, I have two of those things, they’re more useful than you might think.
(One’s for the nice radio I have that’s a bit old and doesn’t have an AUX port, but does have a cassette deck. The other’s for retrocomputers with tape loaded software. Why do I have two? Because if you’ve ever accidentally played a software tape, you’d know why. It sounds awful.)
Those were so useful for a time. But they’re out of date now, as many cars have bluetooth or USB audio. Sadly, a lot of young idiots put their earbuds in while behind the wheel, oblivious to the fact that such a thing could get them fined for inattentive driving. That prevents you from hearing sirens or other vehicles and creates a massive danger. I’d take a cassette-to-MP3 adapter over that any day.

“retrocomputers with tape loaded software” … I feel so old … that’s where we started.
That actually could be useful.

They’re handy if you drive an old car and haven’t changed out the stereo.
