I remember watching DIAGNOSIS MURDER reruns and was surprised that one of their earlier episodes was a belated Halloween special where the murderer turned out to be an actual vampire. They never did another story like that again, so they must have learned their lesson.
… although a big element of that story was that intern Jack Stewart, Scott Baio’s character on the show, was made into a real ladies’ man. So it wouldn’t have been totally out there for a dialogue exchange in a later episode to insinuate the whole event had been a scary story he’d written and contributed to a Halloween writing contest.
I kinda liked that story. ended abruptly tho.
I actually skipped it… then again Horror bores me, so my opinion might be biased.

I loved that story – and wished she’d continue it.
