I do the bare minimum of shopping during Hallowthanksmas. From November 1 through February 20th, just the essentials. And Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day are No Shopping Days. Not even if I run out of something.
Preach. Especially where Christmas Eve is concerned. I really had to lay down the law in the past year or two that, as of the week before Christmas, I am *done*. If you call me up with something to get you after that, it’s either not something you really wanted or you’re getting in to plans for your next birthday early.
I only had one situation where I insisted on patronizing a store on a major holiday after working in retail, but that was so my husband could run into a drug store and buy me crutches and an Ace bandage for what I later learned was a broken ankle. It was also one of the few instances of someone not being penalized for calling out on Black Friday.
…And that’s why I refuse to go to any Thanksgiving Night sales.
I don’t even go to Black Friday sales. The day after Thanksgiving is Buy Nothing Day.
Celebrate it by staying at home, eating leftovers, watching TV, and not even considering going shopping.

Preaching to the choir!

That’s 3. (Counts for Stuart not knowing what “good news” is)
epic fail, now that’s a phrase I haven’t heard in a long time. A long time
