I don’t know if this jerk is a hypocrite as badly as the system itself is. The 9-to-5ers “work” 40 hours a week even if they don’t have that much to do, as highlighted here. Why can’t office jobs pay based on X work instead of X time? That’s not dissimilar to retail. He’s not able to “create” work for himself, so he’s being lazy because his employer expects him there for X amount of time. Ironically, if it was “no need to come in, you’ll still be paid for X work” he’d be productive by taking care of things he put off at home.
Also, Amber was folding shirts, which is more work than he did all day, so there’s that too.
Hypocrite.
