isn’t it amazing how the course of events in a given day are the result of “poor planning” and not outside uncontrollable forces such as the number of guests who pay cash in large bills, or 40 people wanting a hot toy at the holidays and the store only having 12 in stock?
Particularly the far too frequent occurance where the first customer of the day buys something cheap (like a candy bar) and pays with a hundred dollar bill, thereby completely wiping the till out of change. And of course, the jerk complains about the thick bundle of bills and load of heavy coins that are now in his pockets…!
one of the times that happened to me, I was able to refuse it because it was a small shop and there wasn’t a hundred dollars in the till to make change for the woman’s one-dollar item.
I directed her to the Dollar Store next door, however!
We had to reduce the maximum amount of cash back because without fail, someone would want 200 dollars off their card and wipe out a fresh till first thing in the morning.

I bet last year’s coin shortage in the U.S. is poor planning as well
It is. I mean, how dare those stores not mint more coins! They could’ve planned better and made more.

Managers should allow stores to refuse any bill over $50. Won’t happen but it would solve a lot of problems.
The grocery store I worked at actually did that.

Again. YOUR poor planning. Blaming Amber personally for the fact that she needs ones and fives. It was NOT HER poor planning!
