The uniform color changed! It was Prison Orange before. (Also, ayup, just as many people thought, The Sanzen was going to show back up after Lunker educated Donnie about him.)
Back in the day of the previous website, commentors would often speculate about when he would return, and get really excited about it. Other commentors would get really angry about that for some reason. They’d respond with stuff like “Every time someone mentions the Sanzen in the comments, Norm pushes it back 6 months,” and “Just get over it, he’s never coming back, and you’re stupid for thinking so.”
It was as though they thought that Norm creating a legendary evil character and foreshadowing his return, which got a lot of people who read his comic excited, talking, speculating, and looking up past comics, was a BAD thing.
I was one of the people saying “every time you bring it up, Norm pushes it back a month.” I wasn’t angry. I just got tired of there being a new ridiculous theory about Sanzen’s Revenge pretty much every week, especially the ones about that lady who called corporate for being unable to find help (like… what?). I didn’t see it as excitement from them – I saw it as people throwing out nonsense instead of enjoying the strip as it came. You underestimate how frequent it was for a time.
What does make me angry is people like you who project their own insecurities onto others.
Look on the bright side. We clearly loved the believable story arcs and kept coming back. The fact that Norm could keep us guessing was one of the things we loved. (I hate sitcoms where after the first 5 minutes, I know the plot for the rest of the show.)
Dun dun DUUUUUNN!

The return of The Sanzen, as foretold.

I remember some of that. I also remember telling some people that there was no way his revenge plot would live up to the hype people were winding up.

Just when you least expect him, there he is!
