I remember the first time this came out, the comment section exploded, and the one thing that sticks out was ‘is this real? It’s a Sunday Strip, is it going to stick? Will she still have her job Monday?’

The previous DM (or someone) thought she was cute, which was why she was hired in the first place, and why she was kept around. Also, Stuart at one point gave some c**k-and-bull story about how it’s more cost effective to keep her around instead of a productive employee because the latter would qualify for a raise while she would only ever be worth paying the bare minimum.
For those who wonder why Courtney didn’t quit, that can have a negative impact on getting the job she wants to do (whatever that may be). Getting fired is not a good look on the resume. And leaving the job off is also a good way to get insta-fired from a job when the new employer discovers you lied on the resume.
I remember when this happened and most every comment including mine was “IT’S ABOUT TIME!” LOL It’s her own fault. She never made any effort and she has such a lousy attitude.
Seriously, she brought this on herself, especially blatantly refusing to take a shift which is grounds for termination. Girl had it coming a long way and she deserved it.
*Angels descend and sing the “Hallelujah Chorus” around Marla at this very moment.*

this is (so far in this re-read) the one time I wish the comments had survived.
Empathized with.

And the turd has been flushed.
This is one of the rare times I miss the old comments, because there were a lot of good ones on this one.
And she’s outta here! Bye, Courtney! She should have been fired A LONG TIME ago. I even wonder why they didn’t fire her in the first place.

anyone notice how small her “what?” is?
Yeah, she’d forgotten that Marla was in charge now and her brain’s rebooting about it.
