about six months ago I had the brilliant idea to get a couple more under-bed boxes to store less-used stuff. I ended up taking the new boxes back cos there wasn’t any more room …
on the other hand I found some stuff I’d been looking for!

It’s possible he thought he got rid of/lost it in last move.
