It’s so interesting to see an anachronism like this, and makes me wonder if Norm had intended at one point to have Marla and Stuart display camaraderie as often as they bickered. It would have given them a more complex relationship to have had more times like these – also note how Stuart uses the word “we” instead of his usual “I” – but sadly this is among the extremely few, which is why I find it to be out of place. But that’s precisely why it’s fun.
Reminds me of the story of the new college professor whose class started at 8:00 AM. Next semester, the professor moved the class to 12:00 PM. “I saved the lives of a lot of grandmas and grandpas by moving my class!”
It’s so rare to see these two sharing any positivity, seeing them laughing together is heartwarming.
One of the rare times you see Stuart’s human side.
Happens at my (non-retail) job. Monday-Thursday, people show up. Friday, the place is a lot emptier.
