I don’t understand why Amber would think that’s appropriate. People act like asking about somebody’s salary is bad (it’s not) but asking when they’re having kids is okay (it’s not). One of these is easily obtainable information, the other is an invasive personal question. It’s so weird.
When I was single I was always asked when I was getting married. (You sort of need a guy for that). After I got married everyone asked me about when we were having kids. I don’t think anyone ever asked my husband. As if it was all up to me. I got so fed up with that. I even had one frenemy say I wasn’t trying hard enough! None of these people even asked if I wanted kids, just assumed I did. I wanted to tell them to stay out of my bedroom!
That’s also a very rude question to ask, though people still assume it’s acceptable.
There could be financial reasons, medical reasons, philosophical reasons, religious reasons….and most of them are not your business!
Actually, all of them are not anyone’s business other than the happy couple’s.

Nice tush. No wonder she always gets hit on.
I mean… Shotgun wedding… it’s still rude, but it’s a natural first assumption.

You should have told them to stay out of your bedroom.
