Hmmm, a lot of places in my area right now are having a hard time keeping employees due to the pandemic and the relief checks. Now I have a third choice for the reason for that… The Man still acting as if workers are easily replaced.
It’s actually a worker’s market right now, for once. All the employers crying “labor shortage” are underpaying and aren’t competing. The stimulus checks were a big wake-up call that if the government (you know, the big entity that rules us all but never quite has enough money for anything) is paying *more* than employers, the employers aren’t paying enough.
2021: “Hey Marla, I’m sick and can’t come in.” “You’re fired.”
