If it is a purchased cake (and to me it looks a bit like that), it may have been marketed as “birthday cake”. I’ve also notice baking bloggers having recipes titled “birthday cake” – they seem to typically be some sort of vanilla cake with white buttercream frosting and colourful decorations (often sprinkles, sometimes the sprinkles have also been mixed into the cake batter).
One free-cake day, I got greedy at the end of the day and scraped a big chunk of icing off the cardboard. Someone told me that was disgusting. I still wonder what their head was filled with.
Someone’s giving me cake with no strings attached? Pass the forks!
If it isn’t anyone’s birthday isn’t it just cake? I’m definitely down with this concept too, I’m just curious what makes it birthday cake?

I love how Lunker always has this look when answer questions. Like “what’s so hard to grasp about cake?”
Cake…Goood!🍰😋

Fondant
I’ve done this. Not at work, mind you, but I have bought cake just to eat a cake.
This was a triumph
Lunker, you’re as wise as you are tall. Your giant heart reflects your giant emotional heart.
