Sadly, my old Discman broke a few years ago. Stopped spinning CD’s, and I’ll admit, I’m not quite comfortable with trying to repair it. Still have plenty of CD players around, and I’m more than guilty of popping one or two into my laptop’s CD/DVD combo drive to listen to it. (Storage space is expensive, I’m not wasting it on music.)
external hard drives are pretty cheap, though. You could get a 2+ terabyte for, like, $50 on sale. They also can be plugged in to most tvs, so you can take it places and play for others
I still have my Discman. I wonder if it still works. (I also still have discs, ‘cos I’m a dinosaur, rawr.)
Mine still does. It helped that I snatched the batteries out of it many years ago for something else, so they didn’t leak all over the inside.

I still have a bunch of old cds that I go through. An interesting journey.
Anyone know of a good disc-player for connecting to your car’s stereo by that little USB port? Thanks!
Just use a USB stick with music on it. Thats what I do.
