Found my bill
Surgery: $6,218.00
Recovery: $856.18
Medical Supplies: $2,528.22
Pharmacy: $589.35
Total: $10,191.75
I had insurance and had to pay $2,500
Does this include the ambulance charge? My mother and I were in a fender-bender. Car had to be towed, I had whiplash and mom had a badly bruised knee and injured her hand. For a 5 minute ambulance ride, I was charged $1400.00. My mother was charged $1500.00 because of the bandage on her hand. This is just for the ambulance ride, mind you. The other driver was at fault so his insurance covered everything but there you have it.
I knew someone who got Covid, and actually scarily enough, ended up on ventilator, but managed to pull through, and is doing okay now. He spent a few weeks very scared about his bill, and when he got he was absolutely shocked.
They covered every penny of it.
Granted, he then had to stop seeing his Covid specialist for follow ups when they stopped paying after a couple visits, and found out it was going to be over $200 per visit, but still.(Also since relevant, live in USA)

As Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 3 says, they FUCK you in the hospital!

Until earlier this year most insurance companies were covering 100% of Covid costs.
