I really like Brice as a character. He’s basically what I picture a younger Stuart to be like, only under the tutelage of a better influence than STU-MAN ever had. I mean, yeah, he’s a pretentious prick, but that’s on account of him being a spoiled brat. He’s still young and impressionable enough to grow in the right direction. If only STU-MEISTER had learned the same lessons…
He also learned the Grumbels Way at a store that could afford to do every little petty thing corporate handed down. Brice’s perception of How Things Should Work is completely colored by that, which makes him come off as a spoiled brat.
He’s really just an assistant who isn’t jaded yet who seriously wants to make a go of this as a career, and he’s been thrown into an environment where everyone is just trying to survive.
Brice is just a man frustrated by the fact that he knows it is possible to run a store well and make loads of money by following the rules.
Corporate just choose not to give the Smithfield store the resources to so.
Brice has seen how it should be, Marla has to deal with the fact that what should be is not actually possible for her store. He has a point, Marla IS very jaded, especially since her face started getting pointy. But he is also learning that she was made this way by incompetent management that only gets more cretinous with experience.
Yeah, Brice, wait until you actually attend the meeting to say one way or the other. After 15 minutes you’ll be wishing it would end. Picture the dullest day you ever had at school, in your least favorite subject and multiply that by 10, you have the ramp up meeting!
