“warrior class” is doing some super heavy lifting there, Heather. Samurai were the Japanese version of European knights, with all the bureaucracy that that later came with. That, and if you were on retainer (which of course you would be, otherwise you’re a Ronin) then that means most of your work is being a taskmaster to the serfs and tax-payers that your Daimyo has rule over.
