Believe it or not, I do see a legitimate issue with management running a register, even though that’s not Brice’s actual motivation here. If a register worker nees management and the manager and assistant manager are on a register, there’s no reasonable way to handle that. Either there’s nobody to appeal to for help or the managers on register have to delay that register line.
Yes, you do need more flexible employees. I’d think the assistant manager would be the first replacement necessary, seeing as the one there is very inflexible. But as johnhenry said, he’s right about management running registers in a relatively empty store, but in a place like Grumbel’s I guess that can’t be avoided.
