I know this comment probably refers to squirrels gnawing holes in the lid, but the first thing I pictured was a gang of squirrels roaming the neighbourhood and making off with everyone’s garbage can lids.
There are a lot of things you only need a lid to because something happened to the one that came with the item and they really should sell lids by themselves but they won’t. Tupperware, cookware, crock pots, bins and garbage cans.
If you’re lucky you might find a stray lid in the clearance section but it’s pretty unlikely.
Sometimes you need the lid only. Darn those squirrels!
