STU-MAN’s catchphrase of “Good news, Marla!” gets old. And the news is always “neutral” at absolute best. Perhaps on my next archive binge (whenever that may be) I’ll count the times he uses that line.
Yeah, I picture him everything Stuart says that. “Good news, Marla. Due to the other stores closing, we’re gonna be staying open until 2 am from now until Valentines Day.” I half expect Marla to think, “Great, let me show my happiness by throwing myself off the roof and onto the broken glass and cactus garden next door.” Be less painful at least.
Update: I stopped counting because it was nowhere near as many times as I expected. I think I’m at… 8? I don’t remember. Vacation blew that out of my mind.
Does he actually think (I guess he does so he must be completely out of his mind!) that Marla will be delighted to see more of him? All he does is criticize her and rag on her for things beyond her control and calls all of Corporate’s edicts “good news.” It sounds like Stuart’s “good news” is the same as when my email provider gives yet another “upgrade” which is just the opposite. If I were Marla every time Stuart said “good news!” I’d cringe.

Just like Professor Farnsworth

Old times is not the same as good times. That’s why people freak when there’s rumors of someone going to the hospital with bubonic plague.
Two new districts means two new DMs. But apparently Stuart is already overlooking Marla.
