I could give you a huge list of songs that’d work for Halloween. “I put a spell on you” (CCR), “Dead Man’s Party (Oingo Boingo) “Little Ghost” (White Stripes), “Spooky” (Classics IV), almost anything by Alice Cooper, themes from The Munsters and The Addams Family, classical tunes like Night On Bald Mountain and The Hall of the Mountain King.
That’s a good one! Also “Witchy Woman” (Eagles), “Season of the Witch” (Donovan, although Dr. John did a nicely spooky cover), “A Nightmare on My Street” (DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince) and “Grim Grinning Ghosts” (Thurl Ravenscroft).
i worked at Party city for Halloween twice we had a 11 song playlist that ran on a loop from mid august till Halloween believe me when i say it was TORTURE!!! i’ll take seasonal Christmas any day over seasonal Halloween
Hmm, at least those animatronic eyesores at Spirit Halloween have choices for what they say, and there’s not always a guarantee that they’ll activate every time.
If you want the best selection of Hallowe’en merchandise at Lowes or Home Depot – and they *do* have some pretty great stuff, even though it’s overpriced – you need to get there in August. By the first of October it’s pretty much been decimated.
Songs I listen to for Halloween:
Anything by the Hex Girls from Scooby Doo
Monster Mash
Thriller
This is Halloween (Nightmare Before Christmas)
The Addams Family Theme Song
There aren’t *enough* Halloween-themed, fairly generally-appealing songs like Monster Mash, so it’s rather difficult to compile one.
I’m also not sure it’s possible to write a new one in this day and age, especially with how much things have changed since then…
“Werewolves of London.”

“Nature Trail to Hell (in 3D)” by Weird Al.

“Thriller”, “Bump in the Night” (Allstars), “Blood Red Sandman” (Lordi) and anything by Powerwolf.
I always recommend ‘Black Swamp Village’ by The Speakeasy’s Swing Band.
I listen to a Halloween themed metal playlist on Spotify in October. It’s got a good mix of songs I know and ones that I don’t.
