I prefer gift cards, actually. That way, my family doens’t have to worry about figuring out what to get me, especially since my interests change every six months or so.
If you have a loved one who lives near a WalMart (excepting the center of Nevada or such places) A WalMart gift card is a perfectly decent gift. I have groceries in January!
Not really universal since they’re only accepted in the US, and maybe some other places, but you can exchange them for different types of gift certificates if you’re traveling!
Visa Gift cards cost something like $4 on top of the cost of the card itself. THEN every time it’s used it costs the user again! I don’t know how much. I will NEVER buy one of those BIG RIP OFF. Much better to buy gift cards for somewhere you know they like. If you can’t think of anywhere you know they shop or eat, buy a grocery store gift card. Everyone eats. I don’t like Walmart or Target so I won’t buy those. But a card for a local grocery store should work.
I like gift cards. Some people aren’t too good at choosing stuff for me. With a gift card they save themselves the trouble of finding something for a picky person and I get the fun of picking out my own gift. A win/win.
I like the gift card approach, sure a present should be something fun but I think there’s value in bringing someone peace of mind in having extra grocery money

I like that guy. Best gift: Visa Gift Card. Buys whatever you want, wherever you want, up to the amount in the card.

Should have also said Gas Station gift card as another option unless they don’t have a gas powered vehicle.
