      And you missed out on the revelation that Stuart respects Marla’s abilities, despite his complete disagreement with how she does it.

        From his dialogue it seems as though to Stuart, Marla’s handling of the store is some kind of magic trick he can’t make heads or tails of how she did it. Which to someone who in their own way is an unfeeling creep 99.999999999% of the time, I suppose it would be.
