With all the security cameras they have in stores these days, they could — and should — do that. It would certainly cut down on all the people who just dump stuff in random aisles when they have second thoughts on something… especially refrigerated stuff.
Back in the 80’s when I worked retail, items going back to the shelves were known as “returns”. Those being returned to the manufacturer or warehouse were labelled “damages” even if they were in mint condition. Wonder if forty years later they are still using these kooky/confusing terms?
