    Well said, Marla.

It is definitely not “well said”, it is a bad decision on Marla’s part which completely fails to address a very real unfairness in how she treats her workers.

To be fair, she didn’t actually wanted to smoke, she just wanted a smoke break. Cooper would be proud.

I loved having supervisors who told the smokers, “You can smoke during your break, but you will not get extra breaks for smoking”. I liked that so much, when I became a supervisor, I quoted her and enforced the same rule!

Even as a former smoker, I never agreed with the concept of smoke breaks. Honestly did not think it was fair to give a select few people extra breaks to feed an addiction.

It’s not fair to give the smokers extra breaks while the non smokers go on working and have to cover them. They should get extra breaks to indulge something of their own like a cup of coffee or a book.
