Computers don’t lie, but people lie to computers all the time. To trust the computer, you have to trust all the people who talked to it. Good luck with that.
Some idiot uses the wrong SKU code for a stock transfer and suddenly you have -1,436 lengths of 2 x 4s when you have hundreds out in the yard, meanwhile in some other store the shelves are bare but the sytems says they have whole pallets in the back. Even worse, we had an automated ordering system so if the computer said we had stuff, the stock would never be replenished until someone would have to figure out what happened and get on the blower to distribution.
“Computers don’t lie” my arsenal. Going through headaches of trying to find ship that are apparently in stock is a daily occurrence in Fulfillment.

Computers don’t lie, but people are also stupid.
