    Now that she’s manager she doesn’t have to carpool anymore. Unless she does like Stuart and demand to take his car, not pay one cent for the gas and demand to play her own music.

    There’s actually a perfectly legitimate answer Marla could give: “Because I’ll have to get up too early in the morning as it is, and having to meet up before leaving would require a still earlier start, and as the mother of a small child I’m often a bit sleep-deprived and prone to surprise delays already. It’s definitely easier for me if I don’t have to coordinate timing with you. So, no.”
