    Oh, boy. I’ve never worked retail, but i just know this isn’t going to end well for anyone.

    One of the perks of working commission: overtime is six bucks an hour instead of four. Management doesn’t care about the extra two dollars, and I still make a ton of money.

    One place I worked the rule was, if you went over 40 hours because you are working for someone else and it was a personal arrangement not by management request, you only got paid regular time no matter how many hours you worked. This was most likely illegal but A: management felt that since they were personal arrangements and not company needs they shouldn’t have to pay OT. And B: Everyone knew that if they complained about not getting the OT pay, management would stop letting people do these trades. It was a very popular thing to do, so no one complained that I know of.
